17 years ago, Steve Eales began a musical
journey which would see him become one of
our most loved live performers.
Fresh from the mountains of Victoria, Ealesy
and his band - Sovereign - sparked much talk
and curiosity amongst punters and the music
industry alike. Everyone was eager to check
out just who these guys were and as a result they played to packed houses right across Australia.
The band continually delivered on stage and record, going on to forge one of the most successful
band partnerships in Australian Music. They had a string of top ten hits and won numerous
prestigious awards, however, things ran their course and Sovereign eventually split after seven
successful years together. Their legacy, however, lives on thanks to songs like “Tooraweenah Cowgirl”
and “See Them Ride”.
With a hunger and burning passion to further succeed, it was a natural progression for Ealesy to
become a solo artist in his own right. In 2007 he collaborated with Reggie Bowman of Southern Sons
and the iconic Ross Wilson on his debut solo record, “The Battler”. On the back of this release he
cemented his place in Australian music as one our most authentic roots singer/songwriters. Hits
included “Girls on Horses”, “When A Cowboy Gets The Blues” and the title track, “The Battler”.
More albums and a string of hits followed including “Echuca Sun”, “The Long Way Here” and the
wildly popular duet with former Tina Arena backing vocalist, Chris E. Thomas, “Love It When It Rocks”.
In 2015, Steve Eales unleashed the album, “The Open Road”, featuring his newly coined band of the
same name. Featuring Reggie Bowman on bass and Robi Parolin who has over the years played drums
for Shania Twain and the Australian Bee Gees Show - together they create one of the most exciting
sounds in Contemporary Music. “Reggie is in a complete league of his own as a writer, producer and
instrumentalist. His writing has never been more poignant lyrically, while his melodies are simply to
die for from a singer’s point of view”.
Ealesy’s fire continues to burn and 2017 begins an awesome new chapter. “Love Not Fight” will be
launched in January and preceded by the lead single, “Driftin’ On”.
Always diverse, forever the storyteller – Steve Eales is back to delight you once again with a new
sound and a new
