AFTER ALL Steve Eales 2006(shock)
She woke up crying again this morning
To hide her tears she turned away
The sun streaming in with no warning
Brings back the loneliness that she felt yesterday
She wonders why everything in this room reminds her of him
There’s gotta be something in this house that she can claim
So she takes one last look at him sleeping
From the bedroom door
He’s gonna wake up and find
He’s not the man of her dreams
After all
She keeps the note short and simple
So many times she’s told him everything
As she leaves it on the bedside table
The urge to cave in is threatening
It seems like everything in her life revolves around him
There’s gotta be someplace in this world
Where she feels she fits in
So she takes one last look at him sleeping
From the bedroom door
He’s gonna wake up and find
He’s not the man of her dreams
Well he don’t see the ripples he creates
In the ocean of her life with the choices that he makes
Its not that he don’t care or wouldn’t try to change
But the rhythm that he’s living by makes it hard to see the danger
So she takes one last look at him sleeping
From the bedroom door
He’s gonna wake up and find
She just stands there watching him breathing
Then closes the door
He’s not the man of her dreams
After all
